Week Beginning 27th February 2017

World Book Day

This is the 20th year there’s been a World Book Day and on Thursday 2nd March 2017 children of all ages came together to appreciate reading, very loudly and very happily. The main aim of World Book Day was to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own. This week in Pine Class the children talked about their favourite authors and the title of some of their favourite books. They then chose various books to read and completed a book review where they were able to identify a range of key features. The day was filled with reading and English based activities which included quizzes, book reviews, designing and making book marks, designing a new front cover and watching short clips of their favourite childhood stories. What a great day we all had!
