John Muir Award
Class 2 have been fortunate enough to be involved in the John Muir Award with Wing. This has involved four days accessing outdoor activities over two weeks. The class had a brilliant time in the forest school at Gibside where they made dens, bug hotels and skeletons with sticks. We even toasted marshmallows on a campfire!
Alongside this we went to Druridge Bay for some orienteering and team building activities on the beach. There were some very tall sand towers made. The final part of the experience was canoeing in Northumberland. We had canoe races, pretended to be sharks and had to collect in all the coloured balls before the other teams. Some of us managed to get very wet but we were lucky it was a nice summer’s day.
What a fantastic experience! Thank you to Simon and the team at Wing.
