13.1.17

It has been a very busy week in Fern Class this week, starting with Gymnastics, a trip to the Baltic and of course the SNOW!

This week we had a visitor in school to teach gymnastics and dance, Laura will be coming in once a week during PE sessions to work with KS2 this half term.
This week we focused on our movement, we skipped, danced, jumped and even galloped. Laura was very impressed with Fern class, we all really enjoyed the session and are looking forward to next week!

We have been doing lots of number work in Numeracy, Fern class are brilliant at using the numicon to help with addition.

In Science we are working on coding, we have been using coding programmes on the Ipad and using the beebots.

There are some great games that strengthen coding skills whilst having fun! Please pop over to the lego website which has a great coding game that we have been using in class.

On Thursday we had a lovely afternoon at the Baltic Art Gallery. There were lots of descriptive words used when looking at lots of different pieces of Art. We incorporated some mapping skills when travelling to Newcastle and also pointed out and named landmarks.
Fern Class were very excited about the snow, we had a great time playing outside and building snowmen!
